Filming on The Witcher, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the Polish book and videogame franchise has now ended. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich went on to twitter to announce the end of season one, hinting that the streaming service might have picked up the show for more than one season.
The show, starring Henry Cavill in the lead, will follow the adventured of the witcher Geralt. It’s been long rumored that the show, or at least the first season, will adapt the first couple of books. Which means that instead of a traditional story, the show will instead adapt the short stories in order to set up its world and characters.
Additional cast for series was also revealed recently, with Anna Shaffer playing Triss, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier (Dandelion in the english versions).
Netflix’s The Witcher is set to release later this year.
